Raising Funds for Youths with PearUp

Most people want their kids to succeed in a sports program when they are young, as well do I.   I can’t wait till Mila, (my 3 year old) goes into something like softball, volleyball or even cheerleading. Sports give kids the ability to learn how to play as a team, how to be active, and gives them something fun to do through the school year. I also have a 1 year old son who I hope will one day get into football or basketball like his dad.

My husband played basketball all throughout high school and till now he still plays at least twice a week. It’s his favorite sport ever, and his absolute #1 hobby. He says it helps relieve stress and keeps him fit.   I always wished I would have participated in some sort of sport when I was younger, however my parents have me play the piano which wasn’t my favorite.

So what am I getting at here?  Anytime your child participates in any type of sport or extra activity outside of school, it can get EXPENSIVE. Not only the uniforms, but the fees associated with being part of a team can sometimes be mindblowing.  Especially if you have more then 1 kids, maybe 4? That’s going to be a hefty price tag that some families just can’t afford. This is where Pear comes in.

Pear is a social media engagement platform that helps groups earn sponsorships from brands for absolutely nothing.  Pear matches the teams with the sponsors and makes raising funds free and easy for them without any catches, just simple easy sponsorship. All without any cost to the team and no asking for donations from friends and family (or strangers). You only ask them to engage on their social media accounts on behalf of your team through Pear.

How it works:

· Sponsors have money to donate, but they don’t always know how or where to donate it.·

Pear works as the middleman to help connect sponsors and groups in need.·

Pear helps the group leader create a Pear, and the group leader invites others to join.

· A dedicated community manager at Pear will help groups get the most money from their Pear.

· Groups earn sponsorship money by creating a Pear for their group and sharing with others who complete digital incentives to earn more money.·

Each group can earn up to $1,000 within a 10-day time frame.· That $1,000 can be used toward team apparel.· Each team member completes digital steps on behalf of Safeskin to earn dollars – things like liking Safeskin on Facebook, following Safeskin on Instagram or signing up for an email.· For every step team members complete, they’ll get dollars towards their goal.·

The more tasks you complete, the more dollars you earn for your sponsorship.· At the end of the 10-day period, group leaders claim an online certificate for the amount earned redeemable at any Pear printer/· You get to keep whatever amount you earn.· It’s completely free to participate.· It’s zero cost to you, and no are donations required.· So far, there are more than 1,400 participants and 100 Pears.

I also cant wait for my now 3 year old daughter to get into sports! It was such a big part of my life growing up. I was just looking at dance classes for her the other and OMG are they expensive! I had seriously no idea. This seems like such a great program. Thank you so much for sharing.

  2. I’ll definitely have to look into this. I have a couple of kids that are in sports and I’m going to see if this will be suitable for them.

  3. Hi Courtney!
